5 Finalists in the Chequamegon Bay area of Lake Superior – Restoration  and Preservation in our area.

Chequamegon Bay Area Partnership Projects, selected as finalists: Northland College’s Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute submitted proposals for collaborative partner grants with other CBAP members.  Two proposals were selected:

  • Chequamegon Bay Area Partnership Habitat Restoration Project ($251,414)
  • Chequamegon Bay Area Partnership Beach Sanitary Surveys Project ($192,116)

Northland College’s Binational Forum:  Northland College hosts the Lake Superior Binational Forum, a collabortative effort by many partners across the Lake Basin (MN, MI, WI, and Canada) invested in educting the community about the Lake Superior Management Plan and preservation efforts.

  • Lake Superior Binational Forum LaMP Implementation/Outreach ($144,623)

Red Cliff Band of Lake Supeior Chippewas:

  • Red Cliff Band of Lake Supeior Chippewa Septic System Project ($365,637)

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources:

  • The Ashland/Chequamegon Bay Shoreland Restoration Project ($222,491)

The Chequamegon Bay Area Partnership is a local coalition of partner agencies across the south shore of Lake Superior at the Chequamegon Bay in northern Wisconsin that are tackling environmental issues affecting the near-shore waters of Lake Superior and the associated watersheds.
